2011 Online Video Statistics – April

Here are a few of the online video statistics that caught our attention during April:

Accenture revealed 85 percent of Americans are watching online video content via smartphones, laptops, and televisions.  

Comscore’s March 2011 Online Video Rankings showed that the total U.S. Internet audience engaged in more than 5.7 billion online video content viewing sessions in March 2011.  Americans also viewed 4.3 billion online video ads.  

According to Search Engine Journal, 85 percent of internet users in the United States view online videos.  42 percent of online marketers are already making videos to accommodate these users.  

Emarketer reported that 77 percent of mobile users are watching more online mobile videos than they had been a year ago.  23.9 million US mobile users are currently watching online videos on their mobile device at least monthly.

Internet Retailer revealed online product videos can boost conversion by 25 percent or more.


HubSpot released a poll indicating that in 2011 the average American watches 3 hours and 26 minutes worth of online video a week, up from 2 hours and 20 minutes in 2008.
